Wellspring Academy will be offering an in-person Math Class for 8th graders. This class will be using McDougal Littell Pre-Algebra OR Holt McDougal Algebra I. Assignments will be given for at-home work. Questions from at-home work will be answered on the next hybrid school day. 

Wellspring Academy will be offering an in-person Science and Health Class for 8th graders. This class will be using ABeka's Science: Earth and Space. Assignments will be given for at-home work. Questions from at-home work will be answered on the next hybrid school day. 

Wellspring Academy will be offering an in-person Civics and Economics class for 7th and 8th graders. This will be a combined class. We will covering Building Citizenship Civics and Economics by McGraw-Hill. Textbooks can be borrowed from Wellspring. However, parents will need to purchase the Chapter Tests and Lesson Quizzes. Please note that if your student is completing the PHAA-accredited diploma, you must also be able to document a total of 1/2 credit of PA history in grades 7-12 (not 1/2 credit per year, 1/2 credit total).

Wellspring Academy will be offering an in-person Language Arts and Writing class for 8th graders. This class will be using BJU Press English 8. This class will include instruction/grading in writing assignments and a research report. Assignments will be given for at-home work. Questions from at-home work will be answered on the next hybrid school day. 

Under PA homeschool law, spelling is not required. If you would like to have your student do spelling, there are many options available to homeschoolers including Abeka, Wordly Wise, BJU Press, etc.

There are many different reading curricula available for homeschooled students. PA does not outline the requirements of the reading subject. You may use an established curriculum such as ABeka, BJU Press, etc..

PA does not have a specific requirement for this. You may fulfill this requirement by gathering together with other families at the church gymnasium after hybrid school or through the church-sponsored soccer and basketball programs. You just have to document it. Please note that under the PA homeschool law only 1/2 year of this is required in total for grades 7 through 12.

This can be supplemented by at home arts and crafts time, youtube drawing and painting videos, painting pottery as an activity, etc. You just have to document it. Parents should verify that their students receive safety instruction including fire safety and the dangers of drugs/smoking (these topics are state required). Please note that if your student is completing the PHAA-accredited diploma program, you must also be able to document a total of 1/2 credit of Safety Instruction in grades 7-12 (not 1/2 credit per year, 1/2 credit total).
