Standardized testing is required in Pennsylvania for students in grades 3, 5, and 8. Testing for all other grades is optional.
The company we have been using at LCA is Data Recognition Corp. TerraNova3 (Complete Battery). They are in the process of phasing out all of their paper and pencil testing over the next few years. It will probably be more economical to transition to online testing, whether or not we continue to use this testing company.
ABeka has links on their website for parents to purchase standardized testing from two companies: the Iowa Tests and Stanford 10 Tests online. For both of these testing companies, the cost of the online exam is $45.00 per student and includes a score report. The list of subjects that are tested, online requirements, timing for tests, reviews from parents, and sample score reports are all listed on the Abeka website.
